New High-Purity Quartz Sand Production Project Launched
A significant investment of 118 million yuan has been made to launch a state-of-the-art project aimed at producing 3000 tons of electronic-grade high-purity quartz sand annually. The project involves the procurement of advanced equipment such as magnetic separators, flotation machines, washing tanks, and drying machines.
Production Process Overview
The production process for the high-purity quartz sand involves several meticulous stages to ensure the highest quality output. The process flow is as follows:
- Initial Ore Selection: Manual selection to remove large impurities such as mica and feldspar.
- Ore Refinement: Using hammers and water, the quartz ore is further broken down to separate associated impurities, yielding qualified ore.
- Crushing: The quartz ore, sized 10-15cm, is crushed to 3-5cm using a jaw crusher and integrated vibrating screen, within an enclosed operation process.
- Roasting and Cooling: The 3-5cm quartz ore is conveyed to an electric heating furnace for high-temperature roasting at around 1000°C, then rapidly cooled in a water tank with pure water at 50-60°C.
- Airflow Pulverization and Screening: The cooled quartz is pulverized to 0.35-0.75mm particles using an airflow impact Stone Crusher and screening equipment, within a sealed process.
- First Magnetic Separation: Using magnetic differences, iron, cobalt, nickel, and other impurities are removed from the quartz sand with the help of cooling pure water in the magnetic separator.
- Flotation Cleaning: To remove other solid impurities, the quartz sand undergoes flotation cleaning in a heated pure water bath (60°C) with a flotation agent (a mixture of octadecylamine and sodium petroleum sulfonate). The flotation agent enhances impurity separation by increasing hydrophobicity and adhesion to air bubbles.
- Manual Pure Water Washing: The flotation-cleaned quartz sand is further washed in a washing bucket with pure water and then dehydrated using a centrifugal dewatering machine.
- Drying and Cooling: The dewatered quartz sand is dried in an electric dryer at 850-900°C for 30 minutes and then cooled using a water-cooled cooler in a cold zone workshop.
- Final Magnetic Separation: A second magnetic separation removes any residual iron impurities from the cooled quartz sand.
- Packaging and Storage: The purified quartz sand is then packaged and stored for sale.
This comprehensive process ensures the production of high-purity quartz sand, meeting the stringent standards required for electronic-grade applications.
