Heavy flooding in Queensland, Australia, has affected the supply of aluminium from Rio Tinto Alcan’s Boyne Smelters.
The floods have disrupted road and rail access between Gladstone and Brisbane, leading to the closure of the port of Brisbane.
Rio is working out alternative arrangements to supply the material, which includes plans to ship aluminium from Gladstone port.
