Goldcorp has signed an agreement with Rocmec Mining to install a thermal fragmentation unit at its Porcupine gold mine in Ontario, Canada.
Goldcorp will use the thermal fragmentation unit to conduct test work and replace the current long-hole mining method.
The thermal fragmentation mining method reduces long-hole drilling, mucking, backfilling, transporting and milling of waste rock.
