FLSmidth has secured a $30m contract to supply mining equipment to Minera Chinalco Peru’s Toromocho copper mine in the Morococha mining district.
Under the contract, FLSmidth will be responsible for engineering, design, manufacture and delivery of equipment that includes two belt feeders, seven in-plant conveyors and two overland conveyors.
The 5.2km-long overland conveyor with 9MW of installed power will feature complex horizontal and vertical curves and can demand or reproduce power subject to loading conditions.
The final equipment is expected to be delivered by late next year.
China's state-run Aluminum Corporation of China owns Minera Chinalco Peru.
